MISSION to ECD

Come Serve in Kenya!

This year, the Minnesota Conference has been especially invited to partner with the East Central Division to host a mission trip to Kenya. The East-Central Africa Division (ECD) will be conducting a massive outreach initiative July 5-21, 2024, in the 11 countries of their division. As such, the Minnesota Conference leadership is making plans to be a part of the mission because this fits with our vision of providing our members with opportunities to be a part of God’s mission. The group from Minnesota will be working in Kenya in the Kisii and Kilgoris region with the Maasai and Kisii communities.

The actual mission dates are from July 5- July 21. Ideally one would factor in 2 travel dates and one rest date in Nairobi before heading for the mission. Post-mission, there will be an optional self-sponsored safari and market tour dates for up to a week. 

Missionaries have the option of registering directly through the ECD or through Vuna International. Registering with Vuna International comes with the added benefits of training prior to going on the trip, as well as transportation, accommodations and meals provided in-country. Should you desire to register through the ECD directly, you will not receive any pre-mission training and accommodations will be based on the financial resources available to the Union you will be connected with. 

Missionaries who wish to register through Vuna International will be required to pay a non-refundable registration cost of $200, a mission fee depending on the package, (Full board $800, half board $400), and an air ticket. 

Full Board at $800
Cover International Missionaries costs during the duration of the mission. 

Half-Board at $400
Cost for Missionaries who may opt to plan their logistics during certain phases of the mission as they may have alternative accommodation and local transportation during the duration of the mission, but will still get to take advantage of the pre-trip trainings. Accommodations, transportation, and meals are completely on your own, no help provided.

Optional Self-sponsored Safari tour
Package will vary based on the interest of the registered missionaries. More information to come. 

Tentative Itinerary (subject to change)

• July 1: Leave the USA, arrive in Kenya on July 2
• July 3-4: Preparation in Nairobi
• July 5: Travel to mission site(s)
• July 6-20: Mission work!!!
• July 21: Travel to Nairobi
• July 22: Return home OR Market Day/Travel to Safari
• July 23-24: Safari Tour
• July 24/25: Travel to US
